You may have not notice it but a toddler at play isn’t just a child at play. A child believes he is seriously at work. Growing toddlers are busy bees. They constantly want to do something with their hands. We parents only notice it when they starts to get our attention either they are too loud, too hyper or just too cute to not notice.
It is important to give our toddlers a thing or two to do to develop his skills. There are many activities that are perfect for toddlers so they can satisfy their curiosity and broaden their knowledge at the same time.
If you do a quick search on Google for “activities for toddler” (which probably already did, that’s why you’re here at my Collections of Todder Activities page), you will find tons of resources and ideas to give your child. We will be siting some example and suggestions for toddler activities by categories here.
There are toddler preschool activities if you are looking for things to do for your toddler who are in preschool already. Think of preschool toddler games that are both fun and engaging to play
Educational Activities at Home
Here are some very fun, entertaining and education activities you can do with you toddler at home. We personally do this, so I can say that it works for us.
- Surf the internet – Internet is not a safe place for a toddler. That’s why I also recommend using the internet browser for kids - Kidzui
- Play Dough – Let your child imagination run wild! You can create almost anything with a set of play dough. I bought a set of it when I was in Burnaby during a business trip and my sons loved it!
- Learn the Alphabet - With Kidzui and Yutube, learning the alphabet can be super fun and easy!
- Watch Education DVDs – No, don’t watch a Michael Bay film… Watch some Dora The Explorer dvds or Barney and Friends. Not only will toddlers relate to the characters they will learn a lot too
Fun Free Activities you can do at any Park
There are so many toddler activities to do at the park.
- Ride a Bike - Either learn or teach your child to ride a bike or take your bikes and ride on the bike trails. Yes you can take the tricycle or even the power wheel. The kids love riding with mom and dad. Also, safety first! Don’t forget to wear protective gears!
- Play on the playgrounds. Usually parks have this playgrounds with swings and seesaw. A toddler can play for hours with those things! Remeber when you were a child? Pack a little lunch. Spend half the day there or at least until nap time. Most newly built parks are equipped with toddler activities.
- Fly a kite!! These are like great little Easter Basket “Stuffers.” It is tradition that we put kites in our kids Easter Baskets. Take the kite and fly it near the open spaces or baseball fields. You may not be the best kite flier but, who cares. It is about fun and spending time together.
- Bat and Ball!!Just grab a bat and ball and throw it in the trunk and leave it there. You can always find an open field and play with your toddler. Purchase the appropriate bat and ball for their ages of course. Little boys love this one.
- Kick Ball. Good old fashioned kick ball. I think I enjoy this as much as he does. Again just stick a ball in the trunk and leave it. That way you have it in there whenever you need it.
